Hi everyone, RDM has been known internationally for a few years now and we are starting to see it appear on even the smaller lighting company's products. RDM is here to stay and it enables us to be able to know when a fixture or series of fixtures or a single LED is down or has broken. It can also relay hundreds of different bits of information on fan speeds, light intensities and other things as long as you have the sensors installed. RDM is being seen heavily on static and touring dimmers so that you can remotely set the DMX 512 address without any fuss. It also menas that you can see if a RCD has tripped and means that you can get an engineer to it to rectorfy the problem.
CLOUD :
Tilera have made cloud computing possible by their advances in multi-core processors. They have produced processors that have 64 cores, they also produce processors with 32 cores. The most amazing part of Tilera's engineering so far is their blade server which would be completely ready for cloud computing as it has eight of the 64 core processors. It is extrememly powerful. This means that everyone is a step closer to the reality of cloud computing which means the concert lighting world will soon be able to rake in the benefits of using a cloud to hold all their pre-written DMX 512 programs ready for the show.
